Michiru played the piano during her childhood by imitating birdsongs and the natural sounds around her. With classical music as a base, she loves exploring music that transcends genre boundaries. Michiru transforms various musical elements such as pop, electro, ethnic music, jazz, rock, and contemporary music into her own unique music.
In 2004, Michiru graduated from the Department of Composition at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with the highest honors. In 2005, she released "Six Pieces of Turkish Folk Music," a commissioned work by “Ensemble NOMAD”, the leading contemporary music ensemble in the world. After graduating from the Graduate school of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2006 in Music Composition, Michiru began her career as a composer and arranger.
Michiru has released two solo albums while supporting various musicians and creating video works. In 2009, Michiru released her first album "WORLD'S END VILLAGE- Village at the End of the World". In 2015, her second album "ALLEGORIA INFINITA" was released. Both of these albums share a world of sounds that creates a great story that contains strong energy.
Michiru has created music for the animation “JORAN THE PRINCESS OF SNOW AND BLOOD” (Nihon TV etc,), “FUSHIGI DAGASHIYA ZENITENDO” (NHK), “7SEEDS” (Netflix), TV drama “ROKUHOUDOU YOTSUIRO BIYORI” (TV Asahi), “OOEDO GREAT JOURNEY” (WOWOW), “KAKEGURUI” (TBS, etc), the movie “KAKEGURUI 2: THE DESPERATE RUSSIAN ROULETTE” (Directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa), and “BEM MOVIE ~BECOME HUMAN~” (Directed by Ikehata Hiroshi).
